ZCC has contributed to effective humanitarian and development response to education, health and food shortage crises

ZCC UNITED CHURCH OF CANADA & CANADIAN FOOD-GRAINS BANK FEBRUARY FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS
2 March 2021

Bikita, Ward 31 was a hive of activity as food aid distributions were carried out on the 2nd of March. 
A total of 2200 beneficiaries (484 households) received food aid. Each beneficiary received 10kg mealie meal,2kg beans and 750ml cooking oil. The beneficiaries extended their sincere gratitude to ZCC and its partners for the program which has improved their food security status. 
All Covid-19 regulations were observed.

ZCC CANADIAN FOOD-GRAINS BANK UPDATE

24 February 2021

The ZCC team was in Chirumanzu recently for food distributions in Ward 2 & 21, supported by the team leader Mr Gwari, Rev Mazarira of the Methodist church in Zimbabwe and The Gender Officer Lucina. 
In total 1 188  beneficiaries received full rations of mealie meal, beans and cooking oil. All COVID-19 protocols were observed during the distributions. This initiative is supported by Canadian FoodGrains Bank

ZCC PASTORS MONITORING VISIT TO PROJECTS IN BIKITA AND GUTU

Five pastors (Rev Gora, Rev Burukai, Rev Dirikwe, Rev Chikwature and Rev Makumbe) from Zimbabwe Council of Churches member churches conducted a field monitoring visit to projects that are implemented by ZCC in Bikita ward 4 and Gutu ward 2. The pastors were accompanied by ZCC Head of Programs (Mr Nare) and ZCC Programs Manager (Ms Dendere). The monitoring visit was aimed at assessing the progress of humanitarian projects being implemented by ZCC with financial support from Act for Peace, United Church of Canada (UCC)/ Canadian Food grains Bank (CFGB) in Masvingo Region . The ZCC pastors and staff had an opportunity to monitor shelter construction in Bikita ward 4 where ZCC supported 40 households to reconstruct their homes.
